Privacy Policy

Effective October 29, 2026 · Last updated October 29, 2026This English version is a translation for convenience. If it differs from the Japanese original, the Japanese original prevails.
In short
  • Your events, tasks, settings and notes stay on your computer.
  • Nothing is sent to our servers.
  • The App has no way to read your email. Gmail is shown as Google’s own web version.

1. Introduction

This policy explains how Wombat Project (Kotoku Niinuma) (“we”, “us”) handles information in the desktop app Hitotaba (the “App”) and on the website hitotaba.com (the “Site”).

2. Information the App handles

The App retrieves the following from the accounts you choose to connect:

  • Google accounts: your calendars and their events, tasks in Google Tasks, and your account name, email address and profile picture
  • Microsoft accounts: your Outlook calendars and their events, tasks in Microsoft To Do, and your account name and email address
  • Zoom accounts (only if you connect one): the information needed to create meetings
  • Subscribed calendars (only if you add a URL): the events published at that URL

The App also handles what you enter in it, such as Quick memo, display settings and saved meeting links.

3. How we use it

We use this information only for the purposes below. We never use it for advertising, sale, profiling or training AI.

  • To show your events and tasks together in the App
  • To create, change and delete events and tasks, and to respond to invitations, when you ask the App to
  • To build your Free time list
  • To create online meetings (Google Meet, Teams, Zoom) when you ask the App to

4. Where it is stored and how it is protected

  • Everything the App retrieves or you enter is stored only on your computer. Nothing is sent to our servers. We cannot see your events, tasks or notes.
  • The keys used to connect to your accounts (access tokens) are encrypted with your operating system’s secure storage. The App never stores or enters your passwords.
  • The App’s logs never contain email addresses, keys or email content.

5. Who the App talks to

To show your information and carry out your actions, the App connects directly to the services below. Each service handles information under its own privacy policy.

  • Google (Calendar, Tasks, sign-in)
  • Microsoft (Outlook calendar, To Do, sign-in)
  • Zoom (only if connected)
  • The provider of any calendar you subscribe to
  • The Site (to check for updates; the App only reads whether a new version is available and sends no account information)

6. Gmail, Keep and other web pages

  • Gmail, Google Keep, Google Calendar and similar services are shown as their official web versions, inside the App’s window.
  • Sign-in and all communication happen directly between you and each service. The App does not read or store what those pages show.
  • Sign-in state (such as cookies) is stored on your computer.

7. Google user data

Hitotaba’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

  • We use it only to provide the features in section 2.
  • No person reads it, except with your consent, for security reasons, or as required by law.
  • We do not use it for advertising, and we do not transfer or sell it to third parties.
  • We do not use it to develop or train AI or machine-learning models.

8. Sharing with third parties

We do not hold your events, tasks or notes, so we have nothing of them to share. Information we do receive (feedback in section 10 and inquiries in section 13) is not shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

9. Deleting information and revoking access

  • When you remove an account in the App’s settings, the App revokes its access and deletes its keys and sign-in state from your computer.
  • “Delete all data (full reset)” in the App’s settings deletes your accounts, memos, settings and sign-in state all at once. After that, move the App to the Trash to uninstall it. Logs can be deleted from Help → Open Log Folder.
  • For Google, you can revoke access at any time from Third-party apps & services in your Google Account. Microsoft and Zoom offer the same in their settings.

10. Feedback and bug reports

  • We receive feedback, bug reports and inquiries through a Google Form. Choose “Send Feedback…” in the App, or “Contact” on the Site, to open it in your browser. What you submit is stored by Google (Google Forms) and received by us.
  • When the form opens, the App’s version, your OS and language are filled in under “Diagnostic info”. You can review or delete them before sending.
  • We ask for your email address only if you would like a reply.
  • “Copy Diagnostic Info” in the App only copies information to your clipboard. Nothing is sent automatically; you decide whether to send it.
  • Diagnostic info includes the App’s version, your OS and language, and recent warnings and errors. It never includes email addresses, keys or email content.
  • We use what you send only to reply to you and to improve the App.

11. Analytics on the Site

  • The Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, to count page views, referrers, countries and device types. It does not collect information that identifies you.
  • The Site is delivered through Cloudflare. To deliver it and keep it secure, Cloudflare processes information such as visitors’ IP addresses.
  • The Site does not use advertising or anything that tracks you across other websites.

12. Changes to this policy

We will announce changes on the Site. Important changes will also be announced in the App.
